Installation and Upgrade Guide for the Arqut Edge Application

We offer a specialized script designed for the installation of the Arqut Edge application on Debian-based systems or on Raspberry Pi devices.

This script is designed to:

  • Check whether the Arqut Edge is already installed and, if it is, suggest updating the app.
  • Install the most recent version of the Arqut Edge app.
  • Configure the Arqut Edge app to operate as a service, enable the service to autostart on boot.
  • Supply a series of commands for managing the service.

By executing the specified command, you can automatically download and initiate the script:

sudo bash -c "$(curl -sSL https://www.arqut.com/downloads/arqut-edge/installers/linux/install_arqut_edge_x86_64.sh)"

Following the installation, you will have access to three commands:

  • arqut-edge-start: Initiates the app as a service, allowing it to operate in the background. While running this command, you will be informed that the app’s user interface is accessible at http://<device_host>:3030.
  • arqut-edge-stop: Stops the sme-remote service.
  • arqut-edge-uninstall: Deactivates the service, delete the app, and all associated configuration files.

If you’re using the app on a local machine, you can access it at http://localhost:3030.

On the first run, you need to set up the app. Choose one of the following methods:

  1. Scan the QR Code: Use the mobile app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
  2. Enter an API Key: In the mobile app, go to the Profile tab, tap “Generate API Key”, and paste the key into the corresponding field.

Once set up, the first tunnel to your Arqut Edge application is created and you are ready to go!
